ANIQO is lying on a white sheet, the lengths of her black hair lying over her head, which is slightly tilted. She can be seen in the picture up to just below her shoulders. She is wearing a white off-the-shoulder top with five black buttons on the lower sleeve, which are visible as she holds her left hand delicately next to her face. Only two-thirds of her right hand is visible and she points it slightly taloned with her palm towards the camera. She wears delicate make-up, the dark eye shadow is particularly striking. Purple and orange light falls on the scene from the left.

ANIQO

ANIQO’s music and her metaphorical lyrics are full of magic and longing – not longing for another place but rather for other conditions. With her hauntingly raw, evocative voice, psychedelic guitars, propulsive drums and particular electronic and synth effects, Berlin-based Anita Goss creates hypnotic sounds as heard on her debut album »Birth«, released this year. Combining indie rock of today with the best of the post-punk and new-wave era, her songs have a certain world-weariness but also tell of escape from darkness after internal and external struggles. Touching songs about defiance and resistance that offer hope.
