Female person is seen in a semi close-up, she is wearing a transparent black blouse, which gives a hint of her tattoos on her arm. Her right arm is bent, her forearm rests on the lower edge of the picture, her left hand rests on her right forearm. A red and blue parrot is sitting on her right index finger. The woman has closed her eyes and her long hair is slicked back.

Grace Cummings

That voice! It immediately stands out – it’s so deep, so wild, so engaging. Fitting, then, that Grace Cummings called her second self-produced album »Storm Queen«, whisking you away with sparsely orchestrated folk songs. Most of the time, the Australian artist is accompanied only by the acoustic guitar, sometimes by a harmonica or a tambourine. Her lyrics are full of imagery and large on metaphors, singing of independence, distance or closeness. Bolstered with vocal training as a stage actor, the singer-songwriter brings out completely new sounds from the good ol’ genre of folk – including when she swaps out her acoustic guitar for an electric one.
