houaïda

houaïda is not only a musician, composer and performer but also a studied astrophysicist. Scientific strategies are as much an inspiration for her as artistic practices that focus on radical sensuality. She explores the decolonisation of »Western listening«, opting for transdisciplinary methods that deconstruct normative perceptions of sound, music, performance and modern (natural) science. She believes that both learning and practising can provide the seeds for a (Western) revolution that could lead us to a better way of living and dying. Besides her career as a musician, houaïda is part of the performance collective Talking Straight and has worked for several theatre and dance performances at venues such as Haus der Berliner Festspiele and Maxim Gorki Theater.
