The photo shows Vero Schreiegg in front of a white wall, natural light comes from the right side. She wears a dark denim jacket and has her arms loosely folded in front of her body. Her somewhat wispy, dark, open hair is partially tucked behind her ears, falling over her shoulders to either side. She smiles frontally into the camera with closed lips. The picture on the right shows Claudia Roth in a half-total. Her head is slightly tilted back and she is laughing into the camera with a broad grin. She holds her hands flat against each other in front of her upper body, as if in a praying gesture. She wears her hair short, shining purple-silver and lying flat against her head.

»Off the Record« – Podcast von Deutschlandfunk Kultur (De)

Claudia Roth, Vero Schreiegg (Moderation)

What does protest sound like? Do protest songs have a political impact or are they just good soundtracks for demonstrations? How much empowerment lies in a good anti-song? In the podcast »Off the Record«, Vero Schreiegg talks with a guest about a given topic and the songs that go with it. In the joint back and forth, a soundtrack is created: inspiring, humorous and empathetic.

Recorded live at Pop-Kultur, this episode welcomes guest Claudia Roth, Minister of State for Culture, whose life has been strongly influenced by culture and music. For example, before becoming the leader of the Green party, Member of the European Parliament, Vice President of the Bundestag and now Minister of State for Culture, she worked in theatres and as manager of the band Ton Steine Scherben. Her personal song selection is sure to be surprising.
