On a paved path in front of a meadow with trees far in the background, four people squat in different positions and look into the camera. The person on the left is wearing a black leather shirt with cloth sleeves over a white T-shirt with a smiley face, black trousers and black flat patent leather shoes. They have short brown hair and tattoos on both arms and rest the left arm on the bent left leg, leaning the closed hand against their chin. In the picture to the right, another person is squatting with a white long blouse, pink and rose leggings, a pink visored cap with pink and purple flowers under which her hair is not visible, white socks and brown flat shoes. The arms rest on the legs. The third person in the picture has long brown curly hair, wears a short black and white dress, black socks with white ringlets and black flat shoes. She rests her head on the back of her left hand and her arm on her knee. The fourth member of the band Taffee has brown straight long hair tucked behind her ears. They are wearing red trousers, a pink blazer with an oversized red flower on the lapel, high heeled shoes with a green and black striped heel and straps. The rest of the sandal is striped pink and black. They spread two fingers of the right hand and leans the hand against their cheek.

Taffee

Berlin attracts interesting characters – that much is clear. But the fact that four strangers can meet here to finally live out their teenage fantasies of being in a cool, queer punk band is a stroke of luck, as Taffee demonstrate. From surf-pop to post-punk to no-wave, they combine everything that the genre of guitar music has to offer in terms of enjoyment. Ana Khatchikian’s off-beat pop guitars mix with Maya Land’s bass melodies, held together by Max Puorro’s unorthodox drumming. Sara Anwar sings with a haunting voice about being different in a world of conformity. Right off the bat, the title of their first EP sends the message: »Have Taste in Your Own Bad Faith!«
