It’s on: Pop-Kultur Berlin from 24th-26th August in the Kulturbrauerei

Final announcements, timetable, tickets!

That’s right, it’s finally happening! Pop-Kultur Berlin is taking over this week. From the 24th to the 26th of August, 2022, the 8th edition of our festival awaits you with around 120 slots! On board are acts such as Alewya, alyona alyona, Ebow, Graf Fidi, GoldLink, Ja, Panik, Isolation Berlin, M.anifest, Uffie und Σtella. With live concerts, commissioned works, talks, readings and films, as well as a focus on the Pop-Kultur Nachwuchs and Goethe Talents, we’re showing what pop culture can mean – within and for different communities, but also as a shared, unifying experience. And that includes you!

Get your tickets here! For the whole festival, for single days or for the discourse programme.

It won’t be possible to attend every single one of the well over 100 events. There’s so much going on, so it’s best to check the timetable here. The live acts range from Arooj Aftab, who won a Grammy this spring, to the band LEOPARD, who just last year were still learning the ropes in the Nachwuchs programme. At Pop-Kultur, up-and-coming talents from Berlin perform alongside musicians from countries that are often outside of our Eurocentric focus. Through commissioned works receiving their world premiere, we engage in dialogue with artists in unconventional ways, allowing ourselves to be confronted or even provoked, but above all, let ourselves be moved. Our talks take a critical look at the current state of the music scene, learning from the past and thinking about a better future. Topics like gender equity and social criticism, accessibility and awareness, inclusion and integration are not only discursive issues that we want to discuss but also experience them directly on site. In the Çaystube, you can watch performances by Tama Gucci, Fuffifufzich and Anthony Hüseyin or even sing yourself in a round of karaoke. This safer space in the courtyard of the Kulturbrauerei has, as part of the Kultursommerfestival Berlin 2022, free admission.

On Wednesday, the Minister of State for Culture Claudia Roth will open the festival just before everything kicks off! We’re looking forward to seeing you and all the other festival goers, broadening our horizons together with, something exciting under the spotlights and moving on the dance floor!
